Meet Daniel Habedank
Daniel Habedank is a Senior Video Editor and Colourist based in Auckland, New Zealand, with over 30 years of experience across film, television, and digital media. Co-founder of SunPix Post Ltd, he works across the full post-production pipeline — from the edit suite to the colour grade — bringing technical precision and creative instinct to every project he takes on.
His major credits include Ahikaroa (TVNZ/Maori TV, 200+ episodes across seven series), Mysterious Ways (Feature Film), Wild Heroes S1, Up2 (12-Part Reality Series for Maori Television), and the DigiKor Educational Portal developed through Campfire Studios. He has also worked on Tagata Pasifika, Breaking Silence, and a range of commercials and independent productions.
Beyond the edit suite, Daniel sits on the board of Accelerating Aotearoa — a youth media training and AI literacy initiative — and is a board member of The Graduate Choir of New Zealand. He holds a Diploma of Arts in Media Design from TAFE Australia, and was named Young Filmmaker of the Year in Western Australia in 1998. He is fluent in English and German, with working familiarity in te reo Maori and Pacific Island languages.

Why the name 'Dragonpuppy'?
[ drag-uhn puhp-ee ] noun, meaning: something cute and ferocious.
Where did the name come from?
Dragonpuppy is a limited company based in Auckland New Zealand that I created to run my freelance business under. Putting the above meaning aside, dragonpuppy actually came about when I wrote a children's book, many moons ago for my kids, caqlled The Mysterious Wuzzle Fuzzle.. The two leading characters were Eloquence the Wizards Cat and Lucky the Dragon Puppy. My first business used to be called The Wizard's Cat and thought it only fitting for my second one to be called Dragonpuppy.
Cute and ferociouse is true but somwhat misleading on first reading. Cute is in the way of 'always interesting, never dull' and ferocious means 'absolute commitment' to any project I undertake..
